Successful structural change
Bonn is the birthplace of the Basic Law and the Federal Republic of Germany. As the capital, Bonn has set the path for Germany to be accepted back into the international community after the Second World War. With the reunification and the relocation of the capital to Berlin, Bonn and the entire region had to work on a profound structural change. With the privatization of the post office ministry into Deutsche Telekom and Deutsche Post DHL, the declaration of Bonn as the UN city of Germany and not insignificant compensating means, a unique structural change was achieved. Bonn is today a prospering business location for which the function as a federal city, the second political center of the Federal Republic of Germany, still plays an important role.
